A murder charge was filed Monday against a young woman accused of gunning down a 27-year-old man at a Moreno Valley residence.
Kenneisha Infinity Brazile, a 23-year-old probationer, allegedly killed Lamar Wilkins in the 24500 block of Atwood Avenue, near Indian Street, last Monday. The Moreno Valley resident was taken into custody without incident Thursday in the predawn hours at a residence on Dickinson Road.
Along with the murder count, Brazile is charged with sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations. She’s being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside and was slated to make her initial court appearance Monday afternoon at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
According to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Brosche, the defendant and victim were involved in an unspecified confrontation, during which Brazile allegedly pulled a handgun and shot him in the upper body about 7:30 p.m. last Monday.
Deputies converged on the location minutes later and discovered Wilkins dead and his killer gone.
Central Homicide Unit detectives pieced together events and ultimately identified Brazile as the alleged shooter.
The nature of the relationship between her and Wilkins, if any, was not disclosed.
According to court records, the defendant has prior misdemeanor convictions for shoplifting and battery.
