A murder charge was filed Tuesday against a Gardena man who allegedly stabbed his 61-year-old father to death in his bed.
Robin Robert Frost Jr. pleaded not guilty to last Friday’s slaying of Robin Robert Frost Sr., according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The defendant — who turned 25 Tuesday — allegedly killed his father as he was asleep in his bed, according to Deputy District Attorney Linda Kwon.
The elder Frost was found lying on his bed with “several puncture wounds to his chest and face,” and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Gardena police Lt. Chris Cuff.
Officers were sent to the 1700 block of 150th Street at 1:45 a.m. on a report of a family disturbance, according to the lieutenant, who said “information in the initial call stated that the mother and son were outside of the residence and that the son stabbed the father.”
The younger Frost was arrested early that morning and remains jailed in lieu of $2 million bail.
The murder charge includes a knife-use allegation. He could face up to 26 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
