A 27-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Garden Grove hotel room and refusing to let her leave pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony charges.
Fouad Alyasini is charged with two counts of forcible oral copulation and one count each of kidnapping to commit sexual assault and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime, as well as misdemeanor counts of assault and battery.
Alyasini, who entered his plea in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana, was ordered to return to court Sept. 14 for a pretrial hearing at the West Justice Center in Westminster.
Alyasini, who’s being held on $1 million bail, is accused of sexually assaulting the 36-year-old woman at the Hyatt Regency Orange County at 11999 Harbor Blvd. last Saturday, according to Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney.
The woman told police that she and her friend met Alyasini at a hookah bar and invited him back to their hotel room, Whitney said. She said her friend had consensual sex with the defendant, and when she left the room, Alyasini turned his attention onto her, Whitney said.
When the woman refused to have sex with him, he threw her on the bed and unsuccessfully attempted to rape her, then forced her to perform oral sex, Whitney alleged.
When the woman’s boyfriend came to pick her up at the hotel early Sunday, the defendant refused to let her leave the room and assaulted the boyfriend, who called police at 4:50 a.m., Whitney alleged.
