A man accused of driving drunk and crashing into a Pomona house, killing a woman inside, was charged Monday with one felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Carmelino Oliver Martinez Ordonez, 33, of Pomona, who was being held on $100,000 bail, was originally scheduled to be arraigned Monday, but the hearing was postponed to Tuesday.
The crash was reported about 9:15 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton Boulevard and Colony Drive, according to the Pomona Police Department.
Yolanda Bozonier, 59, who lived in the home, died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.
“When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a vehicle collided into a house,” police said in a statement.
According to police, the fatally injured woman was trapped under the PT Cruiser for about 20 minutes.
“The driver was traveling southbound on Hamilton Boulevard at a high rate of speed when (he) lost control and collided into a house,” police said. “At this time, it appears alcohol was a factor in this collision.”
