Burbank police Thursday had not yet released any details of how a public pool lifeguard allegedly managed to photograph on his cell phone naked underage girls and adult women changing clothes in an employee locker room and a public restroom.

While Arturo Montano, 23, was taken into custody, authorities did not explain how he allegedly managed to physically be in a place that allowed him to secretly take the pictures or videos.

The suspect’s first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.

Officers said they found evidence on Montano’s cell phone substantiating claims that he had secretly taken photos and videos of several juvenile and adult females, according to Sgt. Claudio Losacco with the Burbank Police Department.

Authorities later seized a computer from the Verdugo Park pool lifeguard’s Sun Valley home, which will be searched for more evidence, Losacco said.

The suspect was booked Wednesday on suspicion of possessing images of a minor and six counts of concealing a camera to videotape the less-than-fully-clothed bodies of others without their knowledge, Losacco said.

The suspect had no prior arrests, Losacco said.

His bail was set at $170,000, and he is due to appear in the Burbank branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.

There was no immediate word of how authorities were originally alerted to the alleged crimes.
