A convicted felon who allegedly flashed a young girl walking to school in Moreno Valley was charged Monday with indecent exposure.
Jacob Ron, 33, of Moreno Valley was arrested Thursday following a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation.
Ron made his initial court appearance on the misdemeanor complaint Monday morning before Superior Court Commissioner Nicholas Firetag, who scheduled the defendant’s arraignment for Wednesday at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
Firetag ordered Ron held in lieu of $5,000 bail at the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside.
According to sheriff’s officials, shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, the defendant positioned himself along a sidewalk in the 25000 block of JFK Drive, near Trautwien Road, where children were present.
According to a sheriff’s statement, a girl walking to JFK Elementary School encountered Ron, who displayed “his genitals to her.”
The child fled and reported what had allegedly transpired.
Patrol deputies arrived a short time later, initiating an investigation that culminated in the defendant being identified and taken into custody without incident at a residence on JFK.
According to court records, he has a prior conviction for robbery.
