A murder charge was filed Thursday against a 36-year-old woman accused in the fatal shooting of a man in a Stanton motel in August.
Amy Lynn Black also faces a sentencing enhancement allegation of discharging a firearm causing death. Black, who was arrested Tuesday, is being held on $1 million bail.
She is accused, along with 37-year-old Joel Brandon Martinez, of killing 35-year-old Carlos Beltran Aguilar on the afternoon of Aug. 26 in the Villa Motel, 11672 Beach Blvd.
Martinez, who was arrested Sept. 8 in Bakersfield, has been charged with murder, with a special circumstances allegation of gang activity, as well as participating in criminal street gang activity, with sentencing enhancement allegations of gang activity and discharging a firearm causing death.
Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Joses Walehwa declined to say what prompted the shooting or what relationship the defendants had with the victim, if any.
